Rhythmic Gymnastics & Dance

GYM POLICIES

  1. Parents or siblings of studentsare NOTpermitted on the gym floor without a coach.

  2. Smoking is not allowed anywhere in the facility, and food and drinks are only permitted in designated areas (the snack area near the entrance, and in the viewing areas). Food and drinks are not permittedanywhere on the gym floor.

  3. Parents may observe all classes from the viewing area only. For safety and instructional reasons, observers must refrain from communicating with students while they are in class

  4. We strongly discourage absenteeism in our program. Regular attendance is beneficial to your child’s progress in the program – skills and techniques will remain fresh in their memories, and muscle memory is also important.

  5.  Arriving on time (or a few minutes early) is highly recommended. Arriving late to class may be achaotic beginning to your child’s lesson and it disrupts the other children in the group.

GYM RULES

  1. All students must wear shoes to and from the gym.

  2. All girls wear leotards and have hair tied back. All boys wear t-shirts tucked into stretch short  Shorts with zippers, buttons, or pockets are not allowed. Students cannot wear jewelry while in class.

  3. Gymnastics students must be barefooted (no socks or tights that cover the feet.)

  4. No glass or glass bottles anywhere in the gym.

  5. No chewing gum, food or drinks in the gymnastics area.

  6. No running anywhere in the facility unless directed by your instructor.

  7. Gymnasts are expected to be respectful, polite and show good manners at all times in the gym.

  8. No fighting of any kind.

  9. All trash goes immediately into trash cans.

  10. All students must wait inside the building to be picked up after class

GYM MAKE-UP POLICY

  1. Your child has a reserved time for his or her class. Please understand the instructors are there to teach your children even if your child does not show up. While ORGDA will do everything possible to find the perfect fit for you, it is your responsibility to schedule your lesson in a time that fits your child’s schedule.  In order to see continual improvement in your child’s skill attainment and physical development, it is important that attendance be consistent.  If you choose not to follow these guidelines, your child will be removed from the class roster.

  2. For this reason, we wish to encourage regular attendance by issuing the following make-up policy.

  3. Make-up classes can be scheduled BY APPOINTMENT ONLY on an AVAILABILITY BASIS ONLY.  MAKE-UPS CANNOT BE SCHEDULED MORE THAN 7 DAYS IN ADVANCEand MUST BE MADE WITHIN ONE MONTH OF THE MISSED CLASS.

Procedure for scheduling make-up classes is as follows:

  1. Schedule the day and time for the make-up class with the front desk. Make-ups must be scheduled for a class that has already been missed, not one that your child will miss.

  2. Once the appointment has been scheduled, we go by a use it or lose itpolicy and we do not offer make-ups for make-ups.

  3. Your child’s Make-Up Pass must be obtained in hand from the front desk prior to class start timeto redeem as admittance onto the floor for the class you scheduled your make-up in.

  4. Make-up classes may not be transferred to other children of the same family.Make-up classes may not be transferred to other children of another family.

  5. Make-ups can be utilized as make-ups only while you are enrolled. Make-up classes cannot be made up upon re-enrollment. If you drop out of the program, you lose the make-up classes and there is no monetary compensation.

  6. Make-ups cannot be carried over from previous semesters as make-ups. All classes missed during Fall, Winter, or Spring semesters must be made up during that semester or they will be lost. We do not issue credits or refunds on accounts for make-ups.

  7. The maximum amount of make-upsthat will be allowed during the active session is four (4).

PAYMENT/ENROLLMENT POLICY

  1. Registration Fees are due at time of enrollment, renewed annually, and are non-refundable Registration Fees must be current for classes.

  2. Monthly tuition payments are due the fifth of each month(from Sep to next year Jun).There is no additional charge for months that have more than the normal number of class days. There is also no deduction for months that have less than normal class days, or holiday closings.

  3. If we receive your payment after the 6th of the month, a $30.00 late fee will be applied to your account.  

  4. Camp tuition and event fees will be charged separately from monthly tuition. 

  5. If you do pay with a check and it is returned, a $25 returned check fee will be applied to your account.

  6. Checks should be made out to Oregon Rhythmic Gymnastics & Dance Academy (ORGDA). Please include your child’s name and class day and timeon the memo line of the check. Payments may be dropped off at our office or mailed to our office.

WITHDRAWAL/DROP POLICY

  1. A 30 day WRITTEN notice of withdrawal will be required in order to withdrawal from class, and all tuition payments will be due until the end of that notice.

  2. WE DO NOT ACCEPT WITHDRAWALS OVER THE PHONE OR THROUGH EMAIL.  WE MUST RECEIVE A PHYSICAL COPY OF THE WITHDRAWAL FORM.

REFUND POLICY

The Refund/Creditpolicy is as follows:

  1. ORGDA has a LIMITED REFUND POLICY.

  2. Upon withdrawal from the program ORGDA will place an in-house crediton your account for the remaining unused classes to be used at the gym for other services we offer. Credit amounts are based on date of withdrawal.

  3. Credits will remain on file until December 31stof the calendar year.

  4. The first 2 weeks of enrollment are considered a trial period. Refunds will only be considered for unforeseen circumstances.  Fees are associated with a refund, if/when approved. A processing fee of $25 will be deducted from the unused amount. 

  5. All refunds will take 60-90 days to be processed.Checks will be issued for payments that were made by cash or check.

HOLIDAYS

There are no make-ups for Holidays. They are fixed into the monthly tuition. Scheduled holidays are:

• Thanksgiving and the day after

• December 24 – January 1

• Easter Sunday

• Independence Day

• Labor Day

• Memorial Day

There are no make-ups for Holidays ORGDA is open for:

• Martin Luther King Day

• President’s Day

• Columbus Day

• Halloween

• Veteran’s Day

• the Wednesday before and Saturday after Thanksgiving

• December 23rd and January 2nd

INJURY AND ILLNESS

  1. Advise the coach if you are ill or have any symptoms of illness.

  2. Children on medication which may affect their coordination skills should not be allowed to attend classes. The higher the skill level the more dangerous this is to your child. Please advise the coach if your child is on medication.

  3. Report any injury, unusual pain or discomfort felt during participation to your coach or instructor immediately.

  4. Children who are injured with a brace, wrap, tape, etc. may only participate in gymnastics with a doctor’s note stating full clearance and that no modified work out is necessary for the athlete.

  5. Children who are showing signs of illness may not attend gymnastics class. If they did not attend school, they should not attend class. This includes but is not limited to: a runny nose, cough, fever, sore throat, extreme signs of tiredness, and being unable to participate in usual activity. Also, contagious maladies such as lice and pink eye. If a child comes to the gym with an illness they will be sent home to avoid infecting our coaches and other children.
